Number of pills (prescribed, taken, skipped, etc.)
Participants indicated the number of antiretroviral medication pills prescribed, the number of pills that they skipped, and the number of pills that they took yesterday, the day before yesterday, in the last week, and in the last 2 weeks. Additional items assessed the number of times participants were off schedule taking their medications by 1 h or more, for yesterday, the day before yesterday, the last week, and the last 2 weeks.

Criterion-related validity was assessed via comparison with viral load.
